KONAMI Brings Star Wars™ to Social Gaming
Pre-Registration for "STAR WARS COLLECTION" Begins January 26

KONAMI will be launching "STAR WARS COLLECTION"?a social game based on the Star Wars film series?for social networking sites starting in February. Pre-registration for the game will begin Thursday, January 26th, and those who pre-register will receive a special bonus upon the game's release.
The 6-episode series of Star Wars science-fiction films created and directed by George Lucas have generated approximately 500 billion yen at the box-office worldwide. The series continues to draw attention around the world and "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D ," the first in the series to be presented in 3D, is slated to soon be released across the globe with the Japanese release on Friday, March 16th.
With the creation and launch of "STAR WARS COLLECTION," KONAMI is delivering a game that not only fans of the original series can enjoy, but any social game player, thanks to employing the industry know-how garnered from its social game "DRAGON COLLECTION"* and social elements such as collecting cards and working together with allies to defeat enemies.
"STAR WARS COLLECTION" is a card game that will have players collecting a rich assortment of characters and vehicles, undertaking missions as they travel from planet to planet throughout the Star Wars universe. The game seamlessly captures the signature Star Wars atmosphere as portrayed in the six films, and will feature Darth Vader, Yoda, R2-D2, and many more characters from the series via stunning photos. There are also plans to feature periodic events based on the original films' storylines.
KONAMI looks forward to releasing an even greater variety of social games in the future, so that ever more players can experience the delight to be found in KONAMI's games.
