Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. released the first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! social media content, "Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM," on Facebook in early June. The game has attracted widespread praise since its release, in the U.S. as well as Asia and Spanish-speaking countries, and its user base is growing steadily.
Yu-Gi-Oh!*1, one of Konami's main product lines, has developed across multiple business sectors to become both the number one selling card game worldwide*2 and the source of a range of home console and online games, all enjoyed by fans around the world.
"Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM" combines trading card gameplay with the fun social element of connecting with friends to play together. The game also includes an automatic deck (card selection) building feature to ensure that even newcomers can start playing immediately.
Releasing on Facebook, with its over 900 million registered users worldwide*3, will allow "Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM" to reach not only existing Yu-Gi-Oh! fans but also users who have never experienced the games, bringing the excitement and strategy of the series to more users than ever before.
Konami will continue making advances in overseas development to deliver exciting social media content to more customers worldwide.
