Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is proud to announce the July 19th release of "JIKKYOU PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU 2012," the newest installment in the PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU series. The game will be released for PlayStation®3, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), and for the first time in the history of the series, PlayStation®Vita.
Under an official license from Nippon Professional Baseball, this title includes real data from the start of the 2012 professional baseball season, offering users the chance to relive the intense games of the season's first half as they play. The game seeks to recreate with unprecedented accuracy the pitching, batting and running movements that define baseball, from artful grabs during difficult catches to the stances behind swift passes. The unique forms displayed by star players have been particularly emphasized to bring the baseball atmosphere to life like never before.
The newly-included "Full-Power Straight" lets users vary the speed of straight pitches rather than breaking balls alone, adding real depth to the tactics between pitcher and batter, and in tension-charged moments such as desperate slides and close tags, the camera angle switches automatically to provide a feel that is all but indistinguishable from watching live television footage. There is also a newly added online mode, "PAWASUTA," that gives players all across the country the chance to connect and enjoy competitive card battling*1.
The PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU series has brought the fun of baseball to countless fans with its wide variety of game modes. Users can become baseball players and face off against opposing teams in Pennant Mode, progress through a story as they train up an original player in Success Mode, take on the role of a single player and live the baseball lifestyle in My Life Mode. This is just one of the many reasons behind the series’ total sales of over 10.95 million copies*2.
