KONAMI will release an application for the iPhone/iPod touch on Monday, April 5 featuring characters from “LOVEPLUS.” There will be three versions of the application, namely “LOVEPLUS iM” (Manaka Takane), “LOVEPLUS iR” (Rinko Kobayakawa) and “LOVEPLUS iN” (Nene Anegasaki).

Using the iPhone camera, the application will allow users to shoot a special AR^*1 marker^*2 and take a commemorative photograph^*3 with the heroines of the game. The photographs can be taken at restaurants, parks, tourist spots and other locations that the user visits, providing a sense of closeness as if the heroine had actually appeared in the real world.

There will also be a calendar for schedule management, a voice clock that can be activated by touching the standby screen and other functions to offer entertaining communication.

Moreover, a function*3 to link GPS^*4 and AR is in the works to enable users to enjoy events, location-based reactions and other features by registering their movements on a map.

“LOVEPLUS” is a new dating simulation game released last year that allows players to interact with a virtual girlfriend. It has become a hot topic on Websites and television and in newspapers and magazines, garnering attention for the way it lets players enjoy dating in a virtual environment that matches real world time and seasons.
This summer, a new game, “LOVEPLUS +,” will be released, and there will be comic book adaptations and figurines coming out as well.

Through further multifaceted development, KONAMI will provide opportunities for more customers to enjoy “LOVEPLUS.”
