KONAMI will release an adventure game based on the TV drama series “TRICK,” called “TRICK for DS – Kakushigami no Sumu Yakata” on May 13^th.

This year marks the 10^th year since TRICK was first broadcast. With a new TV drama and the opening of a feature film in the works, the show is basking in the glow of public attention.

With unique character settings and lines by the show’s characters and a variety of parodies, for example, KONAMI is recreating in the video game the original world view to TRICK, which is a mystery but has elements of comedy as well.

“TRICK for DS – Kakushigami no Sumu Yakata” has an original story supervised by the TRICK production team. Not only the 2 main stars but many more familiar characters from the original work appear in the game.

Just like in the TV drama, players embody the self-professed successful magician Naoko Yamada or the genius physicist Jiro Ueda and take on the challenge of being a medium and uncovering paranormal tricks. The game comes with a one-of-a-kind system in which players investigate and gather clues to crimes in the form of cards, then form hypotheses based on those clue-cards. This gives it the fun of a detective adventure game.

KONAMI will continue to provide new ways of enjoying content by developing game versions of good-quality content like the now 10-year old show TRICK.
