KONAMI is set to release "HYPER SPORTS Track&Field" (for iPhone and iPod touch), a sports game featuring track and field events, on July 8 (Thursday).
"HYPER SPORTS Track&Field" provides players with the excitement of 5 different competitive sports including the 100 Meters Sprint and Long Jump. Players can take up the challenge for the fastest time or longest jump and aim for a new personal best or play against competitors from around the world for a ranking.
This game uses simple operations to simulate the skills required for each event, making it enjoyable for players of all levels. For example, in the 100 Meters Sprint, the player can increase their running speed by rapidly tapping the screen, and in the Pole Vault, the player is able to execute a successful vault by shaking the device at just the right moment as their competitor moves over the bar. As each event finishes quickly, players maintain their level of enthusiasm, encouraging them to try for a new record until they are successful.
KONAMI has released this game in both the U.S. and Europe, and plans to deliver the thrill of sports games to customers around the world by expanding the distribution area to include other regions.
