KONAMI announced today that it has released “PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TOUCH 2010”, a realistic baseball game officially licensed by Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), for the iPhone and iPod touch.

“PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TOUCH 2010” features 480 professional baseball players from all twelve NPB teams. Loaded with the latest player stats as of June 2010, the new phone app accurately recreates the batting and fielding skills of each player. The game’s vivid graphics as well as its more than 1500 different sounds, including play-by-play commentary, roaring crowds and more, deliver all the action-packed drama of a real life ball game.

The simple touch panel operations of “PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TOUCH 2010’s” place all the excitement of a pro ball game right at your finger tips. When up at bat, you wait for just the right moment and then swing away at a pitch by simply tapping the screen. When on the mound, all you have to do is touch the screen to select the pitch type and location you want. The automatic fielding and baserunning function also lets you have fun just pitching and hitting.

You can play individual games against the computer using the battle mode or try going the distance in the pennant mode where your team can slug its way through a pennant race for a chance to be crowned national champions. The game also lets you fill out your team roster by mixing and matching players from teams across the NPB to create a dream team for endless baseball fun.

In addition to this latest title, KONAMI has released “PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU TOUCH OFFICIAL LICENCE VERSION 2010” in Japan and “MLB POWER PROS 2010” in the North American market. KONAMI is working to create even more fun smartphone baseball apps with an eye to delivering the sheer joy of baseball to people around the world.
