Originally Designed LOVEPLUS

February 8, 2011

Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.

KONAMI's LOVEPLUS VISA Card, a brand-new credit card with originally designed LOVEPLUS character art, is here. Applications for the card, issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd., (Sumitomo Mitsui Card hereafter) are now being accepted.

The LOVEPLUS VISA Card has a never-before-seen, limited-time-only design featuring the three "LOVEPLUS" girls, hand-drawn by KONAMI's own Mino Taro, the designer behind the characters.

To celebrate this new card, KONAMI is running a promotional campaign on its website in which fans can submit nicknames by which they would like their "LOVEPLUS" girlfriends to call them. Submissions are limited to card members and must be made between Friday, February 4 and Tuesday, March 15, 2011. A total of 1,500 submissions (500 per girl) will be accepted and selected nicknames will be used in "Project LOVEPLUS for Nintendo 3DS*," the latest installment in the series.

About the "LOVEPLUS" Series
Released by KONAMI in September 2009, "LOVEPLUS" is a groundbreaking romance communication game that lets players interact with a "girlfriend." Playing out in realtime, including changing seasons, the game gives players endless opportunities to enjoy life with their "girlfriend." Her personality, clothing, and hairstyle will change over time to match the player's tastes. The follow-up title, "LOVEPLUS +," released in June 2010, lets players enjoy an even more realistic dating experience, including the addition of trips to real locations. The series has won numerous awards, including the Jury Recommended Works award at the 2009 Japan Media Arts Festival, held by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2010.
